Doula

Continuous labor support is a doula’s primary role, whether birth takes place at home, in a hospital, or at a birth center. Many families in Jacksonville and throughout Northeast Florida choose to work with a doula for additional comfort, reassurance, and guidance during pregnancy and labor.

Doula support is often described through four key areas: emotional support, physical comfort measures, informational guidance, and advocacy. A trained doula provides steady support throughout labor, helping families feel confident, informed, and supported during the birth experience.
